Real Alto

We went to a small town called Real Alto.  There is a church that is over 400 years old. There was a painting inside that was dated 1794 or 1714. No one knows. The statue of Maria at the alter was brought by ship from Spain to Puerto Vera Cruz. Then is was brought to Real Alto by mule. We bought candy and eggs from Jesus's friend Mariana.  Real Alto was once a large town. There was no room to expand so people moved to what is now San Sebastian. Now only 13 people live there. You need a rugged vehicle to get there. Or, you can walk, bike or horse.
